The Meaning of Membership

Most people do not see the importance and value of church membership. But in the same way some do not find it
important enough to marry the one they love it is still a Biblical ideal. It's a covenant or an agreement between a
man and a woman. So is church membership. Membership is a covenant that allows for people to belong in a loving
relationship with others of like faith and vision within the local church. By joining together in membership, just as in marriage
"the two shall become one flesh" so it is in the church. We become one body moving together in life to reach and touch our community.

The Word on Membership

"Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually."
(1Corinthians 12:27)

"But now indeed there are many members, yet one body."
(1Corinthians 12:20)
